You’d think people would understand the concept of a personal essay or memoir before they read one!

It’s so interesting because I don’t usually get offended by things that don’t apply or resonate with me. And if I do, I make a point not to comment negatively or question someone’s personal experience.

Why do people take time out of their day to do that? To expect a writer to cater to them? To expect that someone must write about this or that? If they think they could do better, they always have the choice to write their own article.
