As someone who refuses to cater my wardrobe to anything but my own tastes, I'll admit it's certainly not helped me in the workforce. I'm immediately typecast as the girly girl, the fashionista, the model. While these tropes validate my appearance and style choices, they also completely limit me. I'm immediately infantilized. Never taken seriously.
Fuck that. Didn't Elle Woods teach us that women can be feminine as fuck, intelligent, confident and serious? Or any combo of those things. Or none of those things!
