What inspired me to write this was a personal experience I had a while back that came to mind because I happened upon a clip of an ignorant male podcaster speaking about women who trick men with makeup. A man confessed that he didn’t want to date me because he prefers a natural look. Fine. That’s his thing. But I wonder why that’s a deal breaker? It seemed odd to me.

I also had a boyfriend who used to physically wipe makeup off of my face when he didn’t want me to wear it. That was crazy.

As I reflected back I realized that almost all of the men I’ve dated in the past have made passive aggressive comments or criticisms about my application of makeup. I’m annoyed af. Like why do they care?!
