Well said. As a survivor, it is so difficult for me to call people out on this stuff, especially if it’s a man. Because there’s always that underlying threat of him becoming angry and violent because a woman challenged him.
But I am striving to be that person who calls people out, because “If you want something done, do it yourself.” I can’t count on others to stand up, so I will try!
The challenge is that most people are anti-confrontation and anti-accountability. So even if I call someone out in the most tactful way (which is difficult since I’m triggered by half this stuff), it will still put them on defense.
