The whole contest was rather odd. $60,000?? I was drawn in because Roxane Gay was a judge and there was no way I was going to pass up an opportunity where she could possibly read my writing. Maybe it was naive, but I’m still proud of myself!

However, learning that the winner was not a medium writer does sting. I don’t blame her. Like you, I blame medium. They have proven themselves to be so…slimy!
