Interesting piece, very thought provoking. Every woman’s experience is different with glaring similarities, it seems. I grew up ugly but was street harassed a lot more when I was younger.
Today, I’m more attractive than I’ve ever been, which may have more to do with my self confidence blossoming in the last few years as I got to know myself.
When we fixate on beauty our entire lives, as we’re conditioned to, it deprives us of the opportunity to have an identity outside of our physical bodies. My biggest regret is that I never appreciated my inner beauty when I was younger. The world didn’t allow for that.
