Great piece! Seriously, relatable. Predators often tout their victims as “mature for their age” so that they feel special and ‘othered’. But the reason predators are able to weaponize this phrase is because so many normal people use it too! I hope this discourse spreads and spreads. It’s important to be aware of how our choice of words can have such a ripple affect.
